This product can be used with existing pipe for increasing the length of pipe. Generally the washing machine hose pipe comes with the new machine is 1 meter long and most of the times the pipe that comes with machine will be short. So instead of buying a new Inlet pipe buy extension pipe which can be attached to existing pipe and both the pipes can be used with out any waste.
